Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has met with San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie at San Francisco City Hall to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two cities.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the discussions focused particularly on technology and sustainable growth, with both sides exploring opportunities that could strengthen ties between Lagos and San Francisco.
“I had a meeting with Mayor Daniel Lurie at San Francisco City Hall. We spoke about potential areas of partnership between Lagos and San Francisco, especially around technology and sustainable growth,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The governor added that he looked forward to building on the engagement as Lagos continues its efforts to attract international investment.
“I look forward to building on this as we keep Lagos on the map as a top global destination for investment,” he said.
The meeting comes amid broader efforts to deepen international cooperation involving Lagos. Lagos and San Francisco are both members of C40 Cities, a global network focused on collaboration among cities on climate action and sustainable urban development.
A similar engagement involving Lagos officials and Mayor Lurie took place in February 2025, when discussions included tourism, entertainment, technology and sustainable transportation, as well as the possibility of strengthening ties between the two cities.
